Incognito

Life is filled with small blessings in disguise.

You miss the train, yes that sucks, but at the same time it also means more time to listen to the amazing kid playing guitar at the station. I mean how many times does the train come and you board even though you wish you could have stayed a little longer?

My mom once showed me this video of a concert violinist who is very famous, and he decided to play in a subway terminal just to see how many people would stay and listen and how many people would recognize him, only one person recognized him and most just walked past. Street musicians are an interesting breed.

I saw one when I was in California that was actually really good, I stuck around for like an hour to listen to him. It's nice to give yourself time to do those things.

Oh, thanks for the reminder. There was an excellent cellist while I waited for Trax the other day. I missed a train to listen, because honestly--I'd never heard somone segue from Silent Night to The Star-Spangled Banner to O Come All Ye Faithful that well. Ever.

I know what thirdmango is talking about - Joshua Bell. I know the Washington Post wrote an article about it. It was absolutely fascinating.

One time you made me listen to this guy at the Harry Potter party at Harvard Square last year for like, half an hour. And then I think you bought his CD, but you had to go back and get some money because you left it with the scoot-scoot...

Do you remember that?
